The landlords daughter in law had a false alarm Saturday evening and we thought perhaps by Sunday morning there would be a new baby; but not yet. She is back at home now and still waiting. Oh well, it is too early yet anyway.
We are supposedly without city water still, we are lucky as we have a tinaco that is fed by our landlords reservoir and the landlady didn't seem concerned when we talked about it the other day. We are being careful though and conserving carefully as we don't want it to run out before the city supply returns. We are generally very conscious about our water use, as after all we do live in the desert and I don't believe in wasting fresh water no matter what your situation is. Too bad others in the neighborhood don't feel the same. Leaks go on forever it seems and no one seems concerned. I can't figure it out, such a total lack of concern as if the supply was infinite.
Just some random photos today. The first is a back stairway in the Palacio Municipal and the next two are just shots taken downtown from the Plaza de Tres Presidentes during the Mar Bermejo festival.

Brenda - glad you haven't run out of water. I'd be interested sometime in some tips about conserving water. You might know of some I don't.
You're surprised that in a country that believes littering is a national duty that a leak would go unfixed? I guess it doesn't surprise me but, like you, I will never understand it.
BTW, the pics you have been posting lately are really good. I love seeing the mtns and that one yesterday with just half the mountain peeking through was the cat's meow! Or the dog's bark, whichever you prefer!
1st Mate--I just do the regular water saving things. Shut the water off while brushing teeth, not doing the dishes til there is a sinkful, not watering the plants in the hottest part of the day, never just letting the tap run. Just common sense types of things.
Isla.-- No, it doesn't surprise me that leaks go unfixed, it just is beyond my understanding. I have always been careful of water usage, even in Canada. Wasting it just doesn't make sense to me. It is such a precious resource and people just don't seem to realise that for some strange reason. Here in the desert more so than in other places you would think they would be careful with it; but nope they aren't.
Thanks for the compliments on the photos, glad you enjoy them. Maybe someday you will make it over here to see them in person.
