ABOUT US

I was born and raised around Melville, Saskatchewan, Canada.  I spent many years living in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada before moving to Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Canada.  I then moved to Elk Point, Alberta, Canada where I spent many happy years.

Roy was born and raised around Wetaskiwin, Alberta and also lived at Bonnyville, Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Calgary, Alberta, Lloydminster, Alberta and Elk Point, Alberta, Canada.
When he was young and frisky he spent a year or more traveling, (hitchhiking) around Canada and the USA.  He picked up work here and there to finance his travels.  A few of the things he did were working on fishing and shrimping boats, some farm work, yard maintenance, electrical construction, etc..  He met some great people and saw a lot of both countries.  He also spent 3 months traveling around Guatemala in 1998.
When we met we both still had the travel bug so in 2005 we decided to escape 1 harsh Canadian winter by spending 6 months in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, after being there for about 2 months we decided we didn't want to go back to live in Canada and spent many hours crunching numbers.  We felt that we could retire and move if we sold everything.
 We returned to Canada in April of 2006 and within 3 months we had sold our property and were ready to return to Guaymas.
We re-entered Mexico on July 1, 2006 and other than a few trips here and there have been living here full time ever since.
We are still loving the city and the people here and have no intentions at this time of leaving.
What the future holds no one knows; but we are happy and content for now.
