Cena (Supper) with the Landlords Family

Cena (Supper) With the Landlords Family
We spent a quiet day yesterday, Roy was happy because the Nascar season has started again. I came to the computer for awhile and then relaxed with a book for the afternoon.
We were just beginning to think about something for supper, when Irene and her son Carlos arrived at our door. Come over and eat tacos with us, they said. We arrived to find them on the patio with the barbeque going and good smells issuing forth. Little Brittany and her dad were also there. There was barbequed beef (carne asada), refried beans and all of the other plentiful assortment of condiments to go with it. They had even roasted some peppers and then sliced them up. Yum, Yum. The sons had a little TV out on the patio so that they could watch the soccer match that was going on. Every time a goal was scored the oldest son did a little jig, which of course his son imitated. The new puppy is growing at an alarming rate, he looks like a little barrel on 4 short legs. He is going to be a large dog when he matures! Lots of fun with the 2 children and the puppy. Roy and I were getting chilly and they were all laughing at us and commenting on how we will feel when we return to Canada. Roy said we must be getting Mexicanised and they laughed and said, " No Guaymas". They get a chuckle out of us as no matter where we have gone, we always come back feeling like Guaymas is home. A lovely evening, full of laughter and good cheer.

Sounds yummy!! we really love the pork on a spit that's BBQ'd and then wrapped in a tortillia with salsa, etc.
The food is so basic and yet something I can't seem to reproduce back home. Enjoy!

Some good stuff down here and then again some that I have not gotten up the nerve to try (read menudo). Forgot to mention in the blog that the churros man was around again last night. Now those are good!
