On Sunday we were invited to attend baby Diegos baptism. It was held at the Sagrado Corozon church here in Guaymas.

After the ceremony at the church, everyone was invited to a fiesta at La Barca restaurant. If you have ever read anything here before you know that this is one of our favorite restaurants here in town.
We were served a great meal of a Chili Relleno, chicken enchilada and a tostada. As usual the food was good. Snacks and drinks were plentiful also.
At one point during the party they gathered all the children together and threw coins out into the midst of the group. It was a wild scramble for all. I am not sure of the significance of this and will have to ask.
A good time was had by all.

Nice to be invited. I hear Sonora has not swine flu but take care.
Glorv1 and Berni: yes it is nice to be invited and even nicer that they treat us like family.
I read on one site today that there are 3 cases of flu in Sonora so far (if that is accurate).
Ah, La Barca. Fond memories. And that was only just over week ago.
I love it when we get invited to family events like this. I feel like we have really broken the barrier and are accepted as a part of the family. Plus they are always eye opening and great fun!

Islagringo: We are so lucky that the family has adopted us the way they have. Actually most of the neighborhood has. Makes life a lot more interesting and fun.
