On Tuesday morning, our homeowner gave us a ride to the University and showed us where the library was. We used the computers and then caught a bus back to within about 6 blocks of the house.
Wednesday we found the grocery store and bought some supplies after going to a coffee shop for our morning coffee.
Yesterday, after our coffee and a chat with the owners of the coffee shop who are friendly people who moved here from Alaska, we decided that we would try and find a store to do our shopping at. We walked down to a different street and hopped on a bus. Unfortunately, the driver gave us some wrong information and we exited the bus too soon. We walked on to the next stop and asked some people for directions. Too make a long story short we did arrive at a store and managed to get our shopping done. The trip back home was uneventful as we now knew where we were going. The people here are friendly and helpful which is nice.
We vegged out for the afternoon, before taking the dog for his walk in the evening. He is doing well and just being a dog. So no problems.
After having our coffee this morning we caught the bus to the University and are at the library once again to do our 'puter stuff.

Good to hear that you are enjoying Tucson. Your post is a good retort to those people who say: "I want to move to Mexico to get away from the crime and to find friendly people." I long ago learned that whatever circumstances you run away from in one area, you will find the same problems in the new area. As people, we tend to make our own troubles. The reverse is true as well. If you are happy in one place, you most likely will be as happy in a new place.
Hi Brenda - I had no idea Guaymas is so close to the USA! It's great that you are able to take a bus to the border - we can here but it's like, at least, 14 hours.....
Enjoy Tucson - I like that city! I did a lot of design work there about 10 years ago and renovated and restored the Hacienda del Sol Resort Hotel. If you get there, allll the furniture in the rooms is from Mexico! And the rugs, and the accessories - only the lamps and plants and the bed coverings aren't........You would feel right at home! Enjoy your time!
HA! You´re settling in in Tuscon while we are settling in in Guaymas...funny, huh? We wish you were here so you could guide us to a good hardware store! We´ve found a few, but none have the Home Depot collection we are used to. Nevertheless, the apt is coming together and feeling homey. We can´t wait for your return to Guaymas!
If you get over to Broadway, look for an overpass built to look like an enormous rattlesnake! Hard to photograph from a car but very interesting.
Welcome to the US, the value of our dollar is not very friendly to tourist these days. I hope you have a great time.
