Haven't gotten any good pictures of the job in progress as there are trees blocking the line of sight for most of the project.
Here a truck delivers the roofing supplies, styrofoam panels, re-bar and steel beams.

Putting On A New Roof
No, it is not the roof over our patio, unfortunately. One of our neighbors is replacing part of their roof, which was metal, with a concrete one. It is interesting to watch the process. Everything is being done by hand, which is usual for here. Cement mixers and other machines are seldom used unless it is a very big job. The cement is mixed out on the street and the rubble is also placed out on the street.

But I had to laugh when I read your comment about "not getting good pictures because the trees were blocking your way". I have my camera out so much that sometimes I wonder if people think I'm a 'strange lurker' with all the pictures I sneak around to get! Oh the sacrifices we make for our blogs...

I can empathize. I keep expecting the police to show up at my house and ask me if I am the guy with the big telephoto lens. "Not me, officer. I am more of a point and shoot type of guy."
I can only imagine how that exchange would translate into spanish.
Looks like a lot of work! Mixing cement is certainly not an easy job, so I have to give credit to the people working on the roof, since manual labor is more strenuous. Concrete will make for a sturdy roof, but the structure should have a good ventilation system. It might get stuffy in there, if not. Are you still neighbors with them? How is the roof today? I hope it is still in good condition.
