Shrimp Tacos

2nd post for today.
I went to the tianguis this morning to look for the plant pots that I still needed. The "plastics" lady had told me last week that she would have more today and she did, so I got the necessary ones and continued on. I had taken my camera with me today, thinking that if I didn't buy too much, I would walk home and take some pictures. Down one lane of the tianguis was a fellow with a couple of camera tripods for sale, I have been thinking of getting one now that I have a better camera. I had one for my 35 mm camera in Canada; but of course I couldn't bring it with me. I checked that the screw would fit my camera, it did and I was the owner of a tripod. Now, how easy was that! I also picked up a few veggies and decided it was time to head home. The buses seem to take us to the tianguis from home; but don't seem to come back and get us. I walked down the street and finally asked someone about that. He laughed, when I said they bring you; but they don't take you home. Yes, that is right he told me and laughed also. He told me I would have to go to Calle 10 to get a bus, which was fine as it was only about 3 blks. from where I was. We don't usually try to get a bus home from the tianguis as we either walk home or walk uptown for something else and go home from there. I kept walking and tried to take a few photos of the church that is just east of Calle 10. We can see this church and the one in the plaza in centro from our livingroom window and from the patio. I had taken some photos last year; but wanted to get some different ones with the new camera. I couldn't get the whole church in from where I could stand and of course I was standing in the shade and the church was in the sun with parts of it in the shade. I got some funny colors in some of the photos, so will need to play with the settings a bit, I guess. I love just looking at this church, the doorway, the stained glass windows, the spires, etc.. It seems that no matter how many times I stand and look at it I see something different. Another plus of stopping to take some photos was that I got to have a little conversation with a gentleman sitting on a bench right where I stopped.

When I got home, I invited Roy to come with me and try and find the fish taco place that we wanted to try last night. He didn't have any prior commitments (tongue in cheek) so we went to hunt it down. We did find a taco stand, not a restaurant as Ciro had mentioned. She also had shrimp tacos so our plan of having fish tacos went by the wayside. We ordered 3 servings, which is actually 6 tortillas with enough shrimp for more and 2 bottles of coke. The coke was cold, the tacos and fixings were excellent and we were stuffed. Time to pay the bill. My mind still heads to Canadian shrimp prices and I was holding my breath as I asked her how much the bill was. Total came to 44 pesos (about $4.40 dollars). She had started packing up, so I asked her if she was open for cena (supper/dinner); no, she said, she opens in the morning at 7 AM; but on Friday, Saturday and Sunday she is open for dinner and she also has other things those evenings. Not that I would be ordering anything different after those shrimp tacos. They were muy rico (very delicious). We were going to go and take a walk on the beach; but after eating decided that we would head home instead, we had siesta visions in our heads. When we got home Ciro was outside and told us that there is another different variety of hummingbird at the feeder now, this one he said is totally black and his tail is different. We are thinking that these new kids on the block are maybe on their migration and we are hoping that when they see there is sunshine and food they may stay here for the winter. We will see.
