We started this blog to journal our six month stay in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico over the winter of 2005/2006. All the original posts of our winter are still here. We enjoyed it so much in Guaymas that we decided we wanted to live there. We returned to Alberta, Canada just long enough to sell everything we owned and have now moved here. Stay tuned for all the adventures we will have in our new life in our adopted country.

Brenda, I'm so, so sorry. We you able to get back up to see her?
Thanks Barb and yes, I did. I actually spent the whole month of August in Canada, with a quick trip to Muriel Lake one day. Will write more about that in another post.
I was sorry to read this, as well. I know you had been dealing with her prior health issues. This always brings back memories of my Dad. No one knows how you feel. Each of these losses are far too personal. But you are in my prayers.
Thanks very much Steve.
It also brought back memories for me of when my dad passed, made it seem fresh again, even though he died in 1993. It was not unexpected; but still is hard.
So sorry for your loss Brenda. Thoughts and prayers are with you. ::hugs::
Brenda, I am so sorry to hear about your loss.
You will not believe this but my mom also just died on August 4th. She was 82. I lost my dad in 1995.
Brenda, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you.
regards,
Theresa
Brenda, I am sincerely sorry for your loss. Words cannot help your grief but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of sorrow.
Karyn and SD
Dear Brenda - We can sure see the resemblence in you and your mom. And that is something you will always have. Arms wrapped around you.
So sorry Brenda!
Thanks so much Gloria, Breez, Theresa, Karyn and KD, Cynthia/Mike and Croft.
Breez so sorry to hear about your mom, thinking of you.
Lots of memories and yes, Cynthia I do look a lot like my mom.
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, Brenda.
Thank you Ann.
Would have loved to have gotten together with you while you were up this way but I understand if you were too busy.
Barb: yes, that would have been great; but unfortunately I didn't even get to see a lot of the family, never mind friends. Too many people, never enough time.
I was only up there for one day and part of that was spent in Elk Point. I spent the afternoon at Muriel Lake with the step daughter and step grand kids and that was it. Way tooooo short a time.
The majority of the time was spent in Sask..
One of these days though, when I am up there we will have to get together over a coffee, for sure. Too bad you go to the other side of Mexico.
Too bad indeed. I smell a road trip after Señor B and I retire. :-)
Sounds good !!
By the way, when do you guys retire?? Haven't you had enough of that 4 letter word called work?? lol. Have a good day.
3.5 more years, Brenda. I'm blessed in that I truly love my job. But it'll be nice to leave the rat race.
Yikes, long time yet. Oh well you will enjoy it more when it comes.
