Semana Santa In San Carlos

Semana Santa In San Carlos
I mentioned yesterday in my post that we are staying home and away from the craziness at the beaches in San Carlos and area.
This morning Alecs on one of the local bulletin boards, Viva San Carlos posted some photos of the fun going on over in San Carlos. Interesting photos; but they just cemented my plan for staying away from it. Most of the restaurants and many of the businesses close up shop and wait for it to be over.
This is a picture of the same beach that I took on March 1st, 2008.

Some of Alecs pictures taken during Semana Santa.

I love crowds. No, I THRIVE on crowds. But I must admit that the Easter crowds at Mexican beaches may even be too much for me. I am getting closer and closer, though to my move date. Then I can try it for myself.

And I thought the beaches here were crowded this weekend. Doesn't hold a candle to this!

We have been spending time in San Miguel de Allende. No beaches here and the Semana Santa activcities are NOT to be missed. I am gald to have been able to experince it.
I love the passion and energy the Mexicans here put into this holiest of Christian holidays.
My brother lives in Kino just north of you, also a beach area and they get inundated also with the beach crowd for Semana Santa.
